Description

fish the harbour from the stone embankment for bass and bream

The entrance to the harbour is a summer venue with the best fishing is about 2 - 2/1/2 hrs either side of high water. The harbour is very busy with boat traffic on an average summers weekend, for this reason your best times to fish are either early morning or late evening.

Best Bait

Crab soft back or peeler for the bass, with rag worm, sand eel and mackerel for the bream.

Summer Species

Bass, flatfish and sea bream.

Winter Species

Don't bother fish the beach or Gimlet Rock.

Tackle & Tactics

Light beach or heavy spinning rod capable of handling 2-4ozs. If fishing a crab for the bass then a suitable single hook or pennel rig will be ok. If targeting bream use a multi hook rig with small hooks.

Directions

Head as if going to the Marina. Continue past the marina till you reach the end of the road. Follow the path heading left towards the harbour entrance. About 50yrds down the path there's a bench fish any where from here towards the harbour mouth.
