A stretch of shoreline often used for matches. The mark stretches from the small harbour of Greenfield Dock to the Fun Ship at it's western end a distance of 1.6m. The whole stretch fishes very similar to Mostyn but this is really only fished on the flooding tide and over high water. Over low water there’s not the same deep channel as you have at Mostyn.

The early part part of the flood tide in spring and summer offers you the best chance of flatfish and school bass. Once the depth increases as you get closer to high water then the prospect of a thorn-back ray and the occasional smooth hound are very good.
Winter is the time for a whiting fest and they can be caught in vast numbers. You;ll aslo have a great chance of a few codling especially as the tidal flow is at it’s strongest.
In the main you’ll be fishing onto clean sand and mud but close into shore there are snaggy rocks as the base of the sea defenses embankment.

Best access is from the small car park on the left-hand side of Greenfield Dock. This is reached by turning off the A548 coast road. Once parked follow the path along the embankment. As with any mark if it’s new to you I’d suggest a visit/recce at low water to check out the terrain and get an idea of the sea bed and any snaggy areas.

Summer.
Plaice, Thornback Rays, Silver Eels, Bass, Flounder, Mullet, Sole and occasional Smooth Hounds.
if you are targeting the plaice or bass is best if you have peeler crab. Worm will catch plaice but the crabs will strip your bait in minutes! For the thornback rays squid wraps of bluey or mackerel are best options. There is also the chance of Mullet and Sole if you have the patience. In the last 2 or 3 years there have been reports of the occasional Smooth Hounds being caught.

Winter
Flounder, Whiting, Flounder and Codling
The whiting will take fish baits and worm baits and can be caught in abundance at times. For the codling large black lug and squid cocktails or peeler crab will give you the best chance of a fish. Fishing two rods, both summer or winter with larger baits for the bigger fish and the other with smaller baits after the smaller fish is often the best option.

Access via the path alongside the Funship Market
here if fishing at the Funship end of the Greenfield
If you want to fish close to the fun ship it’s better to access it via the path running along the right-hand bank of the stream alongside the old market site (see photo). People normally park behind the pub The Old Tavern Inn on the opposite side of the road. If you use the pub make sure you pop into the cafe at the back and confirm they have no issue with you using their car park.

They also do pretty decent breakfasts.

Disabled Advice
The Dock Road end of the mark is accessible for people who can walk a short distance but not wheelchair users.
