Companions Guide to the Sea Fishing Marks

North Coast

Pistyll  (map) 

Fairly clean ground fishing from either the rock marks or the old dock. Access is via the Tir Bach farm (ask the farmer for permission) or from the footpath running beside the caravan site about 1 mile from Nefyn travelling toward Pistyll along the B4417.
Species:- Summer Bass, mackerel, pollock, wrasse, dogfish, bull huss, occasional rays and smoothound. Winter:- Whiting, dabs, coalfish, dogfish and a few codling after a blow.


Trefor Pier (map)

The wooden pier extends from the seaward side of the harbour wall. The harbour is busy in summer and parking can be a problem. The pier itself ia a great favourite with anglers.
Species:- Summer - Dogfish, bull huss, smoothound, occasional rays, plaice, pollack, wrasse, mackerel and black bream. Winter - Dogfish, whiting, dab and occasional codling


Dinas Dinlle (map)

A beach made famous through the 1950's and early 1960's for the quality of its bass and tope fishing. It's a classic storm beach, western facing which will see you fishing onto clean sand
Species:- Summer - Bass, dogfish with occasional huss and thornback ray. Winter - Whiting, codling, coalfish and dogfish
