West Coast

Hells Mouth (Port Neigwl) (map)

A south western facing storm beach backed by step clay cliffs with a rocky headland at each end. Apart from at each end where the ground is rough this is a clean sand surf beach facing south west. In strong west, south westerly winds the surf can be huge. Not really surprising when you consider its name, Hells Mouth
Species:- Summer - bass, turbot, mackerel, dogfish, bull huss, wrasse and occasional rays and tope. Winter - Whiting, coalfish, school bass (sometimes beyond Christmas) and dabs.


Uwchmynydd (map)

Lying at south west tip of the Lleyn Peninsula facing Bardsley Island Uwchmynydd offers excellent rock fishing for the adventurous.
Species:- Summer - Wrasse, pollack, mackerel, bull huss, conger and dogfish. Also occasional smoothhound. Winter - whiting, codling, and coalfish


Porth Oer (Whistling Sands) (map)

Porth Oer or Whistling Sands as it also known is a mainly sandy beach is flanked on 3 sides by cliffs. 
Species:- Summer - Wrasse, pollack, mackerel, bull huss, conger and dogfish. Also occasional smoothhound. Winter -
whiting, codling, and coalfish
